Give a child the gift of learning
By supporting our School Feeding Programme in Uganda
This Christmas, help children in Uganda go to school with a gift of as little as €29 today.

So what is it that’s stopping thousands of other children, from getting an education and realising their dreams? The answer is simple. Hunger.
We have an action plan to tackle the emergency situation in two Ugandan districts – Pallisa and Masindi. With your help today their hunger can end and their education can begin. Stage one of the programme will give 2,000 primary school aged children in Uganda a protein rich meal every single day. And stage two will support communities as they create school gardens – providing a reliable and nutritious source of food for pupils for years to come.
Once they’ve had a nourishing school meal, the only thing children have an appetite for is knowledge. These children desperately want a better life for themselves and their families – and education is the key. The better their knowledge, the better their prospects. On the other hand, every month of school they miss will have a devastating impact on their future. A single year of primary school can increase the wages people earn as adults by up to 15% for boys and even more for girls.

The simple truth is that by making a donation from as little as €49 to ActionAid today, you can release many children from the grip of hunger and give them the freedom to go to school.
You can change their future with the gift of learning.
What can your money do?
€29 covers the cost of nutritious porridge for 3 pupils for one school year.
€49 is the cost of ploughing four acres of land in preparation for turning it into school gardens.
€99 will pay for all the drought resistant maize and soya beans for one school garden for the first year of production.
€250 will pay for the cooking equipment and utensils for one school so mothers can prepare food for all the children.
€680 will cover the cost of nutritious porridge for a whole term for one school year.
