While some pioneering civil society groups have long been campaigning for fairer tax justice, the critical role of tax in achieving development and social justice has often been neglected. For many, tax is a complex topic, best left to ‘experts’. But this need not be the case. This toolkit is designed to introduce key tax justice topics and we help civil society organisations:
Understand and analyse the issues surrounding tax justice in a given country
Develop advocacy strategies for tax justice
Do tax research
Plan and undertake different advocacy activities (for example lobbying, campaigning and media work)
Learn from the experiences of others already doing tax advocacy.
