How child sponsorship works

Each child has only one sponsor - you.  With you on their side, a sponsored child can be lifted out of poverty and go on to achieve their dreams. Through letters, reports and drawings you'll receive throughout the year, you'll see how their life improves as a direct result of your invaluable support.

How your child sponsorship money will be spent

We ask our sponsors for regular donations that work out at €23 per month. We take this steady stream of money and put it to work immediately in the country where the sponsored child lives.

The most effective way to help a child is to help their community.  So your contribution won't go directly to the child but will be used to fund projects that will enable the child, their family and whole community to overcome the problems they face.  In order to do this, we work closely with people at a local level to prioritise their needs to bring about lasting change.

Funds are used to support a whole range of educational opportunities, to provide clean safe water, to train local health workers, and to work with women and girls to ensure gender equality and to make them aware of their basic rights.

A small percentage of your support will also help us tackle wider poverty issues that affect poor people throughout the region where you sponsor, for example, working with and lobbying national governments to improve education or healthcare services.
