Tax Back Scheme
Change even more lives at no extra cost to you – we just need your signature!
For once, tax will bring a smile to someone's face! Once a year the Revenue Commissioners allow Irish charities to claim tax back on behalf of our donors who have given over €250 in a tax year.
If you are a PAYE tax payer, this tax relief can only be claimed by the charity rather than the individual who has made the contribution. If it is not claimed, the money simply remains with the Revenue Commissioners.
Tax refunds are a vital part of our income, and we rely on them to fund a lot of our work. It costs you nothing and does not affect your tax situation in any way, but makes your generosity go so much further.
By simply returning the tax relief form, an annual donation of €250 at a standard rate of 20% tax will raise an additional €62.50 and at the higher rate of 41% tax the figure rises to €173.73! So, on top of the donation you've already made, you could also help us campaign for the rights of women and girls or provide disaster relief for families in urgent need.
3 EASY STEPS
- Download your tax form here. Just to note that we can claim tax back on your behalf for donations that you have made over €250 in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, so please print off a separate form for each year.
- Call ActionAid Ireland on +353 (01) 8787911 to confirm the amount of your donation in any particular year. Fill in your name and address, PPS number and the sign the form.
- Post it back to TAX-BACK, FREEPOST, ACTIONAID IRELAND, 16-17 Lower O’Connell Street, Dublin 1 (but using a standard stamp will save the charity money) or preferably you can fax it back for the attention of Veronica Waters to 01-8786245. It's important to note that you will need to print off and sign a separate tax claim form for each year that you have donated over €250 to ActionAid.
